What is DriftlessinWI About?
Dedicated to educational content for those interested in establishing a modern life in the country. I cover topics such as machine reviews, hydroponics, land acquisition, living off grid, building, farming, raising livestock, forestry, saw milling and wood works, earning income from your land, having fun and more.
I grew up in a small town, in a small house, on a small town lot. After high school, I went to college in a big city, worked a tech job, and started several successful businesses. I was eventually able to realize my dream of living on a large property in 2011.
I love to learn by doing and through experimentation. When I was younger, I wanted to make movies. Now that I am out of the corporate world, I decided to combine my former passion with some of my new skills to create content about starting a new phase of life in the country. My content is usually related to things I have struggled with or learned. I try to be as thorough and honest as possible, including an accurate discussion of the cost of things and all of the challenges. I am a visionary, an optimist and still, a realist.
Driftlessinwi is not about money, subscribers, or fame, its about documenting things I have learned along the way in an effort to make some good, honest, truthful information available to the world. While I will share the products I like, I will never be a product-pusher or engage in any questionable activity to enrich myself. The state of the world and social media necessitate some normal people stepping up to create content and share a truthful glimpse of life.
